Yodle Search Engine Optimization and Management
So who exactly is Yodle? Is the Yodle search engine management program focusing on Google, Yahoo, MSN / Bing and Ask good? Does Yodle search engine optimzation meet up to the hype? Is there a Yodle scam? No
From what is known about Yodle, they were founded in 2005 by Nathaniel V. Stevens while he was a student at the University of Pennsylvania.
Yodle has quickly grown to a multi-location firm, with offices in Manhattan, Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Scottsdale.
The primary way that Yodle solicits customers is over the phone. Their telephone sales reps are very proficient in describing their SEM services. However, their main drawback is that the average small business owner prefers to meet in person with someone before signing a check for hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars.
Yodle primarily uses adStation, which is similar in some respect to Google's own DoubleClick. Yodle claims that adStation is a behavioral targeted program, but according to information out on the internet, it is more similar to a re-marketing program like that offered by ReachLocal.
Yodle's primary tool for generating click traffic is to put the local.yodle.com url and ad group onto the search engines. This program is similar to a superpages.com or yellowpages.com sponsored listing that will occasionally show up. The primary difference is that when a customer clicks on the local advertiser's listing, the advertiser is charged a fee. In all reality it's a brilliant way for Yodle to hide the true cost of the search engine fees and their own internal fulfillment fees.
Is a customer better suited to run his own Adwords campaign and hire an experienced SEO consultant, or to simply hire a Yodle Search Engine Marketing telephone salesperson to run his advertising? The jury is still out. However, it can definitely be said that the Yodle scam is non-existent.
